WATERCRAFT INDUSTRY NEWS

Yamaha FX Cruiser SHO receives the honor. June 3, 2008

Newport Beach, CA – With three Best of Class winners in the running, WaterCraft World announced its 2008 WaterCraft of the Year in Newport Beach, Calif., during the Affinity Media Powersports Awards.

With an emphasis on three primary criteria—innovation, market appeal and long-term impact on the industry—the 2008 Watercraft of the Year award was presented to Yamaha for its FX Cruiser Super High Output (SHO).

That a variation of Yamaha’s FX SHO captured the award should come as little surprise. After all, the machine has already compiled honors from the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award to stand-out mentions in magazines from Popular Mechanics to Men’s Health. Add WaterCraft World to the list of those singing its praises.

From pioneering the use of nanotechnology in its hull design to the development of digital throttle that enabled the industry’s first cruise control as well as a no-wake mode, Yamaha’s R&D department was ahead of the game. Even the supercharged SHO engine is unique. It’s the largest displacement ever offered in a PWC, yet surprisingly lightweight and compact.

Why the Cruiser? It makes an already fantastic boat that much better, elevating driver and passenger comfort to the next level, without hindering the boat’s gutsy performance.

panic Rev 2008 needs our help

Mammoth Update 2008:

Perhaps you have already realized that Mammoth was one of the last national races to lack a Christian ministry presence; we at PanicRev noticed this, prayed, and now our prayers have been answered. After years of praying and trying to build relationships, we are finally able to say we are officially partnering with Mammoth Motocross to provide chapel service and other events throughout the race week of June 19th-June 29th! We are excited to see God move through this event.

In previous years, we have been blessed enough to be able to crash with friends for a few nights; however, because there will be a larger, organized group of PanicRev volunteers heading to Mammoth, we have had to rent our own condo this year. This rental cost has taken up our entire budget for this event and we need your help. Please pray about donating money to help with the expenses of food, gas, and entry fees for this monumental Mammoth ministry opportunity. Of course, please keep us in your prayers; please pray that God shows the motocross community at Mammoth his awesome mercy and grace.

If you are able to donate please send donations through paypal.com to info@panicrev.org or by mail to:

PanicREV Ministries is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization so all donations are tax deductible.

Blessings,

FALLBROOK — Young motocross competitors Mackynley Bendykowski, 6, Shea Bendykowski, 8, and Caleb Battle, 7, are now being sponsored by Escondido Cycle Center (ECC).

The team, known as the ‘Killer Bees,’ use bikes that include a Honda 50cc, KTM 50cc, KTM 65cc and Kawasaki KX65. The sponsorship helps cover costs associated with the sport and comes with an incentive package: get good grades and continue to be a part of the program.

Jim Hawkins, general manager of Escondido Cycle Center, believes that academics are important.
