Lake Havasu City, AZ – Kawasaki’s Craig Warner, Alberto Monti, and Emi Kanamori dominated the Pro Runabout, Pro Ski, and Pro-Am Women’s Ski classes, respectively; at the 2008 IJSBA World Finals at Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Steven Dauliach also put Kawasaki on the podium with a second-place finish in the Pro Ski class. The Pro Runabout class results were dominated by Kawasaki watercraft earning six of the top-10 riders on Kawasakis. The World Finals has drawn global competition for the last 27 years, with over 30 countries attending in 2008.
Pro Runabout Title
Warner returned to the World Finals to defend his 2007 win and did just that in dominating fashion. He went 1-1 on his Kawasaki Jet Ski STF-15F in both motos under extremely windy conditions and was able to secure his second-consecutive Pro Runabout title.
“The wind really benefited our team,” said Warner. “I usually train in rough water so I knew I had a great chance of winning. When I got out there I felt really comfortable and the Kawasaki Jet Ski worked great in the harsh conditions.”
A First for Monti
After being a spectator and competitor of the World Finals since 1991, Monti finally brought home his first Pro Ski Championship on a Kawasaki Jet Ski 800SX-R. The 42-year-old Kawasaki rider was elated to have race conditions similar to his training waters at his home on the Mediterranean Sea in Italy.
Finally Got The Title
Kanamori impressed many at this year’s event. Her 2-1 performance was good enough for her first World Finals title in the Pro-Am Women’s Ski class. No one was more proud of her than her husband and Kawasaki employee Minoru Kanamori.
“It was a great race,” said Minoru Kanamori. “She’s been trying to win the title for three or four years and has been so close each year. Now she finally did it! We are both really happy.”
