Santa Monica, Calif. (July 1, 2008) – On Friday, July 11, the iconic Santa Monica Pier will be sporting a new addition, as a massive quarterpipe ramp will be constructed directly on the pier. The one-of-a-kind structure will aid freestyle motocross star Ronnie Renner in the latest Red Bull Experiment, in which he will attempt to establish the Guinness World Record for highest air ever attained on a motorcycle on a quarterpipe. Pushing limits and breaking boundaries is at the core of the Red Bull Experiment, which showcases the world’s best athletes performing world-first, “experimental” sporting feats.

Friday The 13th? We Laugh At Danger!
Southern California Flat Track Association
Round 5, Perris Raceway
Story and Photos by Fred Windum
Perris, CA, June 13, 2008
Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky? Two races in a row, Jimmy Wood has taken the Pro Dash and Pro Main at Round 5 of the Southern California Flat Track Association short track races at Perris Raceway.
Even the unusual Friday night date still drew full field in Pro, Vet and Open Amateur classes. It seems that the only way he doesn’t take home all the money is if he doesn’t make it to the races because he’s at another race somewhere else! Joe Winston also had a repeat performance of the last race with a solid win in the Vet class. And nobody left the track during the races with any more than bumps and bruises.
Friday night races in Southern California are difficult to make, since weekend “rush hour” traffic can start as early as noon, making it tough to get to the track. With this in mind, practice and racing was held later to allow stragglers time to get to the track in time for at least one session of practice. Another advantage of a delayed start was lower temperatures and a setting summer sun.

AUSTIN REED WINS AT SXS NATIONALS
CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS FROM THE EVENT
COTO DE CAZA, California — Austin Reed, driver of the #514 Ringers Gloves, RBP, Headblade.com, Approved Memory, Pimphats.com, FOX SHOX, thenfactorpics.com Modified Kart Toyota Tundra competed in the 5th round of the SXS Nationals at Lake Elsinore MX Park.
Following a tough previous weekend at Pomona, CA, Austin and team went back to racing in two classes this past weekend at Lake Elsinore, CA. Austin was one of ten trucks invited to compete at the Invitational.
The day would prove to be a challenge as during his first lap of the qualifying race for the Trophy Kart Elite he hit a kicker jump that sent his truck into an end over end flip. Austin sustained a minor injury to his right foot but wanted to continue on with his next qualifier in the JR 2 Class where his day improved as he set fast time putting him on the pole for this main event. Meanwhile his crew, led by Crew Chief Shannon Weeks, worked to repair his wrecked TK Elite truck for the main event but time and the extent of damages worked against them and they were unable to get it ready for that main event.
