Take 20! – FMF Helping Riders Through Tough Times
FMF Racing announces a never before seen promotion to give back to our fellow riders who have made us number one. I started FMF back in 1973 because I loved riding motorcycles. Delivering the highest level of performance and quality is what drives us. What this means is you the consumer can walk into your local dealership slash the retail price of all FMF 4-stroke exhaust by 20%. Whether it’s a dirt bike, quad, sport bike, side by side and regardless of year, even 2010 – ALL 4-stroke exhaust are 20% off.

FMF is like no other exhaust manufacturer. Located in the So.Cal. hotbed of motocross, FMF has nearly vertical manufacturing – everything is made 100% in-house utilizing American made material.  This puts FMF in the unique position to control production cost and oversee quality without relying on third party vendors or outsourcing. By doing it all ourselves, we can take this unique opportunity to offer a retail incentive at a time when every rider could use it most.

Here’s how the TAKE 20 Program works:
- Take 20% off the retail price of all FMF 4-stroke exhaust.
- The program starts November 15, 2009 and ends March 31, 2010.

Examples:
- Full Titanium 4.1 Megabomb System Retail $849.99. Take 20% $679.99!
- Powercore 4 with Stainless Powerbomb System Retail $499.99. Take 20% $399.99!

That’s it! No coupons or mail-in rebates. You walk into your local dealer and walk out with one of the top aftermarket performance exhausts made – at 20% off.

Sincerely, Don Emler – Owner & Founder, FMF Racing

Film Your Rides In High-Def Video With The ContourHD Wearable Camcorder!
Capturing and sharing that epic trail ride with friends has never been easier. Helmet cams have finally come of age with the new ContourHD 1080p Wearable series by VholdR. This camera weighs 4 ounces, shoots HD video up to 1080p, has a versatile mounting system, is simple to operate, and stylish too! Click here for sample videos of the ContourHD in action.

If you are worried about missing the shot – Don’t – The ContourHD Series by VholdR sports a 135 degree wide angle lens that captures the perfect point of view for motocross. The unit also has a unique laser alignment feature to help you setup your helmet mount. The ContourHD Wearable Camcorder has a highly effective mounting system that takes only a few minutes to configure, and makes it very easy to move the camera from helmet to helmet (or other mounting locations). It supports microSD memory cards up to 16 GB for hours of HD video storage, and sports a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery for hours of runtime. Most cameras do not make the grade when it comes to capturing the crazy, shaky, high action footage that motocross riding! produces – The ContourHD 1080p shines in this arena because it supports 60 frames per second recording in it’s 1280 x 720 (720p) video mode.

Tackling Acceleration Bumps By Shane Watts – Pro Racer & Off-Road Trainer
With all acceleration bump situations, the key point is that it is much more preferable to be in that standing position than sitting down. You need to grip that motorcycle with your knees to make it more stable, and less chance of deflection. Lean back as you exit the corner and give it the gas so as the front tire become “light” and skims across the top of those bumps. If possible try and go… full article

Engine Break-In By Ron Hamp – Owner, RHC MC Engine Development
Engine break-in is not the same as it was when our grandfathers were putting their Triumphs and Harleys together 40 years ago. In the old days, the metallurgy required alloys with lots of nickle or chrome for parts like rings and camshaft components to maintain any reliability. The machining processes were not as good as today and surface finishes were made purposefully rough to allow parts to eventually mate. Piston technology in some engines was to use zero clearance and split skirts to keep the engines quiet. Oil was good enough in those days to compress the skirt and still maintain an oil film, but there were also high spots that would protrude through the film and the engine wouldfull article

TT Member Hotshot – VETMX808 “Hang Time” In Dillon Montana

Inside TT – Forum Tip
Regional discussion forums: if you’ve noticed, before each thread, there is now a two digit state prefix. The thread starter “tags” their thread with the state most relevant to their topic. By default, in a regional forum that covers more than one state, you will see all threads. However, you may click on the state prefix next to any thread, filtering the list to only see threads tagged for that state. However, if you leave that forum and come back later, the sorting will automatically default back to all threads. Or, at the bottom of the forum under “Display Options”, change the prefix to “no prefix” and again, you’ll see all threads. Half a second to tag a thread and it allows everyone to more easily find the info they are looking for.
