Promising Year at the Worlds for Alec Hohnadell

Successful Season Sheds Light for a Promising Year at the Worlds for Alec Hohnadell

by Jettribe Core Watercraft on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 3:15pm

Look forward to seeing you in Havasu soon. Should be a good World Finals for us. We are back home and Tim Judge is here rebuilding our skis and we have built a buoy course to train for the World Finals.

We showed up to the Anderson SC race and it was a great event just like last year. Nice race site with lots of vendors and really good spectator turn out. I was having some problems with my skis but was able to finish all my races but they were not running their best. I was in the points lead in the UWP Tour Points for Expert Ski Limited and did not want to lose any ground this race. I won one moto but was beaten two motos by returning veteran David Cabrera. I managed a second place overall victory. I also raced Pro-Am Ski stock with 3 mid pack finishes and could only manage an overall 6th. Place Finish. I would later figure out why my skis were not running their usual in Charleston the next weekend.

We decided to stay in Georgia and enjoy some of the fun events while waiting for the Charleston race the following weekend. We went on the zipline over the canopy of the Blue Ridge Mountains and had a blast. We also

went on my first White-Water Rafting trip and that was awesome. Some of the other racers and I went and it was a lot of fun. We pulled up right along the road in front of the race site in Charleston WV. The site really is awesome as

you are downtown and they close off the road for the race. I was still in the Points lead for the Expert Ski Limited class and was determined to try and stay in the lead. I had a good start to the Pro-Am Ski Stock Class by earning a 2nd.

Place in the first moto although my ski was not running it’s best. I was brought back afetr the start in Expert Ski Limited and forced to start with a dead engine and my lanyard on my helmet. I was able to catch up and steal several

positions but finished a disappointing 5th. Place in the first moto which assured I would not win a 1st. Place overall. I did finish very well the last two motos which was enough to win a 2nd. Place Overall in Expert Ski Limited. My

ski finally blew it’s motor in the Pro-Am Ski Stock race and finished poorly the second moto. I rode a borrowed ski in the third moto but was not comfortable enough to finish above mid pack earning me a 5th. Place Overall Finish.

I had won all but two races in the Expert Ski Limited Class and this was enough to secure my IJSBA UWP Tour Championship 1st. Place Victory. Thanks for all your support Jettribe!

Weekend of Ups & Downs for Jettribe Team at IJSBA Nationals

Posted by mauler On August - 23 - 2011 Comments Off
by Jettribe Core Watercraft on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 1:49pm

This past weekend the Jettribe Race Team made their way out to one last race before they make the long trek out to Lake Havasu, AZ for the World Finals. he team headed down to Charleston, WV for the final round of the IJSBA National Tour, which is what these riders had been preparing for all season long.

Upon arriving at the site, racers were welcomed with open arms by the whole town. There was a whole main street that was even blocked off right next to the river so that us racers could have a pit area so close to the action. There were also lots of activities going on in the town itself that provided much entertainment after a long day of races. And the racers’ party on Saturday night that was at the host hotel was exactly what all the racers needed to unwind and have a good time.

But the weekend wasn’t all fun and games for the Jettribe Team, who had to endure several ups and downs. Incidents, such as breaking trailer axles on the trip down and boats breaking before or even during races, plagued the team all weekend. But unexpected drama is all part of the racing game and, although it is always frustrating, these seasoned riders expect it to happen at some point and take it in stride. As all racers know, half the excitement of races such as the Nationals and the World Finals is waiting to see what unexpected events might happen that could make or break a championship title.

Now on to the race results! Rick Sherker finished 2nd in Pro-Am Ski GP for the weekend and took home 2nd overall for the entire tour, while also finishing 6th in Pro-Am Ski Stock Spec for the weekend and taking 2nd for the tour. Alec Hohnadell finished 9th in the GP Ski class and took home 8th overall, he also finished 5th in Pro-Am Ski Stock Spec and finished 4th overall for the tour, and he finished 2nd overall in Expert Ski Limited with a 1st place overall tour title. Chelsea Schneider took 3rd in Novice Women’s Ski Limited and finished 2nd overall for the entire tour. Trey Frame finished 6th in Pro-Am Runabout Open with a 3rd overall for the tour and was also crowned the National Champion in Runabout N/A Spec and took 1st overall for the tour. Trey’s brother Cameron finished 8th in Pro-Am Runabout Stock with a 4th overall for the tour and finished 2nd in Runabout N/A Spec with a 2nd overall for the tour. Fellow team rider Derek Correll also made an appearance at the races this past weekend but was too busy selling Jettribe swag to all of the fans, which didn’t leave any time for racing!

The Jettribe Team will be out in full force at the World Finals coming up very quickly and we hope to see you all there! Until then, stay safe and ride hard!

Entrance for the park is easily reached from nearby hw 99.
Exit from Nicolaus Ave to Marcum Rd to Park entrance at 1256 Marcum Rd or

Exit from Powerline Rd which intersects with Marcum at the park entrance

After checking in at the gate, you’ll drive to the left around the lake to the east side camping area. It is a narrow one lane road and the speed limit is 5 mph. I have a feeling you are going to again dig this race site, so please help with continuing to make a good impression with the park staff and make extra efforts to abide by their rules. As with any site we are their guest and we definitely want to keep coming back each season. I thank you for your efforts!

Our camping area is located on the far side of the lake which is where all our race activities will take place. Parking, sign in, registration, pits, launching, announcing, scoring etc… Pit sites are first come – first served. All race skis will be pitted on the beach like at Camp Far West or SSVR.

All camping and reservation info is at http://www.rvonthego.com/Lake-Minden…d-profile.html . Unless you are staying in one of the cabins, or the regular RV spaces with full hook ups, our site is located in section “C”. Section C is on the grass adjacent to the race course and there are lots of trees for shade as well as water, bbq’s, and tables, but there are no 110 hook ups in this area.

The DJSA rate for camping is $20 a nite. The full RV sites are $38 a nite. I stayed in one of their small cabins last time and they are excellent accommodations for $79 or so a nite but you’ll have to call for the current rate. Anyone from Minden can help you, but Sonjia is the one who helped us put this all together.

On Sunday, reg will be open at 7:00am. Reg will close at 9:00am sharp.
At the risk of you guys falling over from shock, I would like to see standup practice start at 830am, but we won’t be able to do that unless all of you are awake, signed in, and ready to go. The course will be ready, the staff will be ready, but the most important people we need help from is all you racers. If you want to get a lot of racing in and get on the road home at a decent hour Sunday, everyone is going to have to help out by being on the line when its your time!!!

Pre-reg requests are now being accepted for Jet Effect. Start positions will not be determined by pre-reg entries for this race, but there is no disputing how much time they save us on race day. Please email me your entry forms or if you don’t have one stored on your computer please download one from www.diablojsa.com and zap it to me so I can get it on the class rosters. Pre-reg discount entries and request will be taken up until Thursday August 25th at 9pm.

Start position choices for Sunday’s racing will be determined from time trials by class to be run Saturday afternoon following open practice. Those not able to attend Saturday will be randomly selected by the computer after all time trial racers have selected their start positions on the line. Part of the reason we’re running time trials is to give you guys a little extra course time to be familiar with it by sunday.
I hope you can take advantage of the opportunity!

Jet Effect Weekend entry fees ~
* Jet Effect Swap Meet $20 per seller for table space
* Junior race clinic and shootout – $25 per jr. racer (includes dinner)

I only need one entry form per racer but it is important you check off ALL CLASSES you are running. Please make sure you are sending me a 2011 entry form with the new class structure listed on the form. I can receive the forms as a word document or pdf file only.
* Incomplete entry forms cannot be accepted. Please fill them out completely. The information requested is for a reason and is not optional.
ALL entries taken onsite on race day are $75 regardless of class.

The best damn Outlaw PWC Racing in N.Calif!

To the 153 course racers and 19 enduro racers who ran our races in 2010, the fans of norcal sincerely thank you and your crews for all the great racing you gave us. Stay safe, watch out for each other, and we’ll see you at the next one…

MONSTER ENERGY / KAWASAKI / MOUNTAIN MOTORSPORTSRACE REPORT – ROUND 7 UWP / IJSBA NATIONAL TOUR

FARTHING AND HARDWICK DOMINATE THE TRIPLE CROWN OF WATERCROSS

August 18, 2011

Dustin Farthing, the reigning Pro Runabout World Champion, dominated the competition by winning all three moto’s in rout to his fifth overall victory on the year in the premier Pro Runabout Open class aboard his Mountain Motorsports tuned Monster Energy Kawasaki Ultra 300X. Farthing said afterward, “Since I moved to Atlanta, this is a new hometown race for me! I could not keep winning without the support of all my great sponsors like Monster Energy, Kawasaki, Mountain Motorsports, Jet Pilot, Jet Trim, JE Pistons, Smith, Vortech Superchargers, Hot Products, AP, and Fox.” Farthing continued, “Without my sponsors, and the support of my family and team, I could not be out here doing what I love.”

Ryan Hardwick also took the overall win in the highly competitive Pro-Am Runabout Stock class. This was the second victory of the season for Hardwick, and it could not have come at a better time. The win puts Hardwick in second place in the national championship points chase with only one round remaining. “This was without a doubt my best race of the year,” said Hardwick after the race. “There have only been two riders that have won in this class so far this year, and I’m proud to be one of them.” Hardwick continued, “It was great to get my second win in front of all my friends and family that were here!”

Be sure to catch Farthing and Hardwick and the entire Mountain Motorsports / Monster Energy / Kawasaki racing team as they compete at the final round of the UWP / IJSBA National Tour on August 20th and 21st in Charleston, WV.
