THROTTLEJUNKIE 30 + VET NIGHT AT PERRIS MX

Come join us this Monday evening for the ThrottleJunkie Vet Night at Perris Motocross Park. - riders 30+ years of age “only” - Thats right. Im told,“You will be carded if ya look even close to thirty Yup it’s true, us old slow guys get our own night. I was thinking of naming itnight crawlers … nah, its bad enough having our own night. Ok, so in reality, this is totally sweet!

Come join us for some serious fun with the guys (and some girls im sure)! Tell the wifey - no beer, no cigars, no cards - Just boys being boys with their toys. The track stays in good shape all night, and ya wont get stuffed by a pro or a wanna be! This is a great time to practice for racing as well. Click here if ya need info or directions www.PerrisRaceway.com . Its only $15 to get in, and no membership required!

The new track layout is great. The design will suit most riders abilities, and keeps the thrill factor high. With great dirt, a competent track crew and (new) outstanding lighting - its all good - in fact, its awesome. Mike, myself and friends rode at Perris last Thursday evening, … and I cant wait to get back.

The track opens back up at 4:00 for Vet night and runs till 9pm. I‘ll roll in about 5.00, and im sure to find other ThrottleJunkie’s ready to twist some throttle. So come hangout with the the ThrottleJunkie crew. Heck you can even get a sweet pic taken by Photo Joe , our photo-man from Still Your Soul Photography. Yup, Photo Joe will be there shooting away. The plan is to make every Monday night a ThrottleJunkie ride night at Perris Raceway. We’ll keep ya posted - or hit me up - david@throttleJunkie.com

SXS Nationals — Pictures from Aug 9 @ Perris Auto Speedway

RAZORS COMING ON STRONG IN M4SX RACING

Nice write up by DUNE DUMMY 29

Round #6 Was Held Saturday Night @ Perris Auto Speedway. I Am Sure I Will Get Slammed For This But I Thought The Track Was Good. I Think The Fans Got A Good Show & The Racers All Seemed To Have A Good Time. We Were The Pace Rhino For The Whole Show Which Was One Of The Coolest Things We Have Ever Done. We Would Take The Racers Around The Track Once Then Duck In By The Tow Trucks & Watch The Race. We Only Had To Tow 2 Vehicles & I Never Had To Run To Flag For A Wreck Or Turn Over One Vehicle I Loved It. Dune Bunnie Told Me She Really Enjoyed It Too & She Thought The Track Was Great & There Were Some Great Races. Todd “King” Arthur Smoked Everyone In The Pro Mod Class. Chad Mittag Broke So He Never Started The Main. Regis Harrington Wasn’t There & Todd Cunningham Limped His Wounded Rhino Around To Finish & Get Some Precious Points. So The Battle For 2nd, 3rd & 4th Is Pretty Wide Open. Todd Arthur Has A Pretty Good Points Lead With Only 2 Races To Go. I Want To Give Props To Ryan Ingham Driving The #70 Pro Mod Rhino. He Was 3rd Going Into The 1st Corner & Got Blocked & Stopped. He Came Out In Last Place.

He Put On A Heck Of A Show Coming Back To 4th. Then He Had A Another Problem. I Don’t Know Where He Finally Finished But He Definitely Passed More Cars Than Anyone. Congrats Ryan On A Great Ride & For Putting On A Show For The Fans. Code Rahders (dnf73’s 13 Rear Old Son) Was Doing Really Well In The Superstock Class Until He Came Around A Blind Corner & Hit A Stalled Car Breaking His Steering. Motogary Was In 4th But Leading His Class When He Broke On The Backstretch. I Think Planet Sidxside Members Did Us All Proud. The Trophy Karts Put On A Great Show. They Had Passing , Crashing & More Passing. The Announcers Said They Were The Best Races Of The Night. The Winner Of One Of The TK Races Did A Donut After The Race & Flipped. Then Another One Did A Donut & Flipped On Top Of Another Racecar. The Crowd Loved It & The Kids Were Fine. I Want To Thank The Track Owners & The Satff For Providing Us With Such A Great First Rate Facility. They Were On The Ball When Ever There Was An Incident. It Was Neat To See How Fast The Safety Personel: Ambulance, Tow Trucks & Fire Truck Got To The Accidents. There Weren’t Too Many Delays In The Show & We Were Done By 10:18 P.M. I Really Enjoyed The Track. I Know Everyone Would Like Bigger Jumps, But I Think That With The Off Camber Switchback Corners & The Jumps That They Did Have It Made For A Fast Track But Still Technical. I Liked It & Dune Bunnie Loved It. See You Guys @ Rd. # 7 September 6th @ Perris Auto Speedway. The Racing Was Great, The Bathrooms Were Very Nice & The Pizza Was Great. Thanks PAS & M4SX / Dirt Alliance.

TAGGER DESIGNS - Tag Gasparian - Custom helmets and more…

davidray.jpgInterview by: David Ray of ThrottleJunkie.com 3/2008

Once in a while and against the odds, talent alone will thrust a company to capture success above the well-funded marketing budgets of the big boys. This is one of those stories. The man and company I’m referring to is Tag Gasparian, owner of “Tagger Designs” (www.taggerdesigns.com)

Tag grew up with his parents in Laguna Beach, Ca., the Art’s and Performing Art’s capital of Orange County. If you’re a local, you’ve been there! The beaches are awesome and the culture abundant, as are the posh restaurants, shops and boutiques. Along with more fine Art galleries than I’ve had crashes.

DSC02959.JPGWith Tag’s parents both being artists and industry professionals it’s no wonder that Tag’s natural talent was nurtured and drawn forth to became part of his personal and professional life. As a hobby for self-expression, Tag’s surfboards began receiving his talented painting and designs. This was a perfect host for his work to be exposed and envied by many! The surfboards of Tag’s team-mates were the first recipients of the handy work, and a catalyst to his present profession.

You see, Tag has been a professional surfer. And a very accomplished one at that. The man has shredded the best waves and tanned on some of the most exotic beaches around the world. Pictures of Tag and his crew ripping up waves on surfboards that sport his paint, have been seen in every major surfing magazine world wide, and many times over. Read the rest of this entry »

Vet-X Racing - at Cahuilla Creek MX Park

Cahuilla Creek MX Park December 30 2007Its Sunday morning, …sweet! - I jumped outta bed, kissed my wife, pet my dog, grabbed a hat, my coffee and I was gone. Out the door, in my truck and headed to Cahuilla Creek in ten minutes flat. What a great day, cool crisp weather with the warm sun shining bright. The ground still a bit moist from rain earlier this week … today, is a perfect day for motocross racing! Ok, so even though I will only be a spectator, still can’t wait to get there and meet up with Mike and Frank. In fact, it seems many people had the same idea. As I pull in, I see that the pits and parking areas are well stocked with rigs, trucks, trailers and every bike made. All here to enjoy there day, the racing, there friends, … America!

Vet X RacingI got the invite to check this race out, and was pleased I did. To add to the day, a buddy had told me Donn Maeda was racing today with the club Vet X Racing. (www.vetxracing.com) Donn is Chief Editor, and that is to say the man in charge at “Transworld Motocross” magazine. Ya, know … that’s gotta be one of the top five best jobs to have on the whole damn planet! Think about it, living in Motocross, … riding, the entire industry your playground, your job, and getting paid!

Anyway, I heard he could ride, and not to shabby at that. So seeing I read his magazine, page by page every month, and basically idolize him, damn straight I wanted to see him race. Even say “hey” if opportunity arose. It did, and I stopped and said hello, and of course got a picture! Courtesy of Frank, Throttle Junkie’s “numero uno” photographer! and always gets the shot …( check out the photo gallery here on TJ, its huge…)

Cahuilla Creek MX Park December 30 2007The Cahuilla Creek Motocross Park is absolutely sweet. Nope, I’ve never been here before today. I must be one of only a few that ride allot, and have not been here, my bad! I’ve missed out, I’ll tell ya… This track has awesome racing conditions! It’s long and wide to start off. Being wide offers lots of passing and bar to bar racing potential … the dirt is a thing of beauty, with great traction. Thus making for some seriously fun riding. Fast turns combined with lots of elevation changes makes this track very sweet! This looks so damn fun. The elevation changes with semi long, and fairly steep up hills, gives way for huge down hill floaters with long airtimes! So if ya need to go big, … its here! However, on that same note. Going “big” is not required to throw down good lap times. The track is fast, no doubt about it … and with table jumps for the most part, elevation changes, changing lines due to track conditions as laps add up, … this is a Motocross track. Mike and I both look forward to racing here, and with Vet X.

Cahuilla Creek MX Park December 30 2007Frank got a good deal of pictures ya can see in the gallery. As usual, Frank captured the essence of the track and how much fun the racing was with his photos. The event held a family atmosphere. Make no mistake though, they are here to race - lots of good reporting stuff. Anyway, I’m not sure what moto it was, I’m only a guest today, but I did get see my boy Donn Maeda throwing down. Donn, (aka: Swap) was running up front for the first three laps of this moto. He had second and third place on his rear tire, but looked comfortable to hold on to his lead till the checkers came out. But things happen … blowing completely thru a berm and into the deep soft fluff … ( kick’n up a nice cloud to boot) was the end result of coming into a turn to hot, from a fast and rough uphill section. Fish tailing his way out of the two feet deep fluff dirt, the #10 Yamaha was back racing. But not before giving it up to around sixth or seventh spot. He worked hard and pulled back into third. Heck, Donn was still making time on second and first positions, when time finally ran out and a very respectable third was retained.

All the great racing going down today was put on by Vet X Racing … this is a class act I must say. Craig runs a fantastic race program. That organization and riders being properly classed was outstanding. Check this out … Vet X runs ” transponders” Yup! each bike has one. No second-guessing who got what place, … just like in the pros. Crap, ya even get your lap times! … That’s so damn cool! ~

LEMX Race 9/29 – Sat

I love Saturday racing. Kevin Reno of LEMX, along with his great crew, like Jayme always make it a fun and safe racing event. With perfect weather, a freshly groomed track and great people … it all added up to a great race day at Lake Elsinore Motocross Park.
Id met up Mauler at LEMP last Tuesday in the late afternoon. We often meet up during the week for a ride and then get back work. On occasion, my beautiful wife actual tells me … “Please go riding, just go and de-stress yourself.” Ya just gotta love that …
While just goofing around however, I had a miss-hap. It makes for a good story. Mauler saved my butt big time. And albeit that was not his intention, the outcome was very much appreciated. Ya see our bikes made contact on landing a jump. Well, Mike was landing, I was bouncing. Id came up short and earned a harsh case. As mentioned, I bounced, and then swapped hard … right into Mike’s line. Yup, im sideways & screwed!
Mike is trying to avoid contact with me, during my sideways flight path, but hits my swing arm with his rear tire. The force was enough to push my rear end back over. Sweet, … suddenly im traveling fairly straight. I still put my foot down to keep’er on two wheels, but this was much better than taking a full digger, sideways. So thanks again Mike, and sorry about almost taking you out … again!
Ya, so my right foot is jacked up. Hey, at least its not broken, my big toes is … but that doesnt count. I should be back riding in a few more weeks. Its very soar, and really ugly. Love the purple, black and red colors! Plus my 120lb dog is an injury magnet, with big feet –
Thats two decent injuries sustained this year. In being that im a numbers man, this highly suggests ive got my crashes all done for the year. Then I should be good-to-go and crash free the remainder of the 2007 Nice!

LEMX Race 9/22

LEMX Race 9/22 Sat – at LEMP
** All Race Stats from Sat 9/22 are posted Below **

Rain rain go away ? … Nah, it just makes for some interesting racing here Lake Elsinore Motocross Park. And can create some great track conditions, and/or some very slippery ones as well. To much for some. I wimped out, and didn’t race the second round moto, all because of a little rain. … Read the rest of this entry »
