Moto-X-Kidz Summer Series opener – Sunday 6/8 at the Kal-Gard Motorsport Complex

- BIG TURNOUT, … SWEET !

With no less 20 gates drops and too many classes to mention, the big turnout gave the feel of attending a mini-national. As I entered the Kal-Gard Motorsport Complex (Lake Elsinore MX Park) on Sunday morning, I was amazed at the sheer number of families, motor-homes, 5^th wheels, trucks, bike trailers, and of course, race bikes … along with their riders, all wired in anticipation of the practice sessions that would prelude the races.

The riders and cheer squads alike (aka: parents) were all soaking in the MX flavor the event provided. Another class act of Kevin Reno and the Moto-X-Kidz crew at large. The pits were humming as our So-Cal summer sun came out to play as well. Not overly warm, but a few umbrellas at the starting gate should give ya a clue on the weather. Plus, the track condition changed with each moto, … keeping it real to what is, the sport of MX racing.

Pro action pics from Hangtown are coming… I am on the road to E STREET and RIVERFRONT Motocross Parks Located in Marysville, CA to do photo service this week for night practices and the coming Saturday night races for round 1 of their summer series on June 7^th. Ya just gotta love the Southern California MX scene and the people it brings out. The Kal-Gard Motoplex in Lake Elsinore not only hosted the event, but was one of few, if not the only motocross track in our great Nation to be granted a Military fly-by. Two L-29 Delphin Military Jets, passed over head twice, in honor of the tracks Memorial Day Celebration. Randy Hiner track owner/operator had to be all smiles …I called and thanked my riding buddy Darin Errington for his serving of “two” tours in Iraq. I meant it bro! You were out of site for a long time, but not out of mind – Thank you my brother of another mother. Darin rides a KTM, and sports # 619 - say hello, if ya can catch him. Dont be shy readers, stop and thank our Militaries Men and Woman, whom offer the ultimate sacrifice so we and they’re families can have days like this!

Rookie Joshua Morros #371 on his Monster Kawasaki from Sparks Nevada took the holeshot and the lead for most of the race until Ricky Dietrich hunted him down and then Bobby Bonds but Josh held on for the podium on his second pro race. Watch for this romper room graduate to take more podium metal.
