NEWS - Perris Raceway “ New track layout to be completed Tuesday, April 15 ”
Perris Raceway’s Ike Jost - Track Manger, clues in David of Throttlejunkie.com
Say good-bye to the track lay-out as you know it. Change is in the wind! While at the legendary Perris Raceway last night to get in some ride time with Randy, (Idiotboyz.com) Mauler, and the boys. I had a planned sit down with Ike Jost, Perris Raceway track manager -
I was interviewing Ike for the upcoming two-part story on the new and improved Perris Raceway. Many good things have taken place under the ownership of Rick Johnson & Seb’ Tortelli and Gen Manager skills of Jeff Nordstrom. While chatting it up with Ike it came to light that by Tuesday, the track layout would be substantially changed.
“Its been about nine months now,…and its time” Ike stated. The track changes will encompass an increase in technicality of obstacles, and a reverse of direction as well (clockwise). Ike was excited about the coming changes. I can understand, seeing Ike co-designed the track we ride and love now. He will again apply his know-how on the track we’ll soon get to know. ~ Thanks Ike.

We just got back from the Daytona Beach Motosurf Freeride. Nick Foederer’s (Yamaslut) annual event is growing every year. From just a small get together with his Florida buddies to entertaining over 300 standups on the beach, this has to be the largest get together of Jet Skiers on the planet.
Nick has everything dialed in for this event. Where else can you park your ski, right outside your room and have your ski no more than 30yards from the surf? Riders came from everywhere including New York, California, Texas and even some international riders. The event also drew some of the sports best including John Havell,”Pancake” Pete Sheidt, Ross Champion, Pierre Maxient, Taylor Curtis, Mike Serlin as well as freeriding legend Scott Watkins and many others. Even Playboy model Tiffany Selby was on hand to strut her stuff and sign autographs. The event offers an unbelievable free lunch on Saturday and a fantastic raffle for charity where almost everyone walks away with product or merchandise. There were several charities selected for the donations and all of the money was graciously donated by the jet skiers in attendance.
What was most impressive is the amount of camaraderie and friendship at the event. Everyone there was willing to talk and help each other out whether this was your first year with a ski or a 20 year veteran. The amounts of modifications were insane and there were also $25,000 boats on hand with everything needed to perform your next “double barrel roll.” After market hulls were also available and on display during the event. Even the “Cherry Buster” event was spectacular where participants tried to “pop their cherry”, while attempting their first back flip in the surf.
A great time was had by all and the partying continued until the wee hours of the night. But that didn’t stop the majority of the riders to roll out of bed and back into the surf when it opened at 9:00a.m.
The weather was dry and the temperature was a perfect 78 degrees. Many of the riders took advantage of the perfect conditions and stayed several days after the event to enjoy the sun and surf of Daytona Beach.
This was an absolutely killer event and we once again would like to thank Nick and his crew for putting on the event of the year!!!
